Hybrid avant-bass insanity from Montreal's Bouche Premiere, aka Rafa & Christian, who have some kind of obsession with scissors, and treat sound like a fabric, to be torn, stretched, singed, twisted, and wrapped around itself. In its brokenness and contortions, intertwined dream and body languages writhe and wriggle. "a plat dans ton peau" is somewhere between glitter box and dumpster, delicacy and distortion -- distinctly challenging human noise that embraces and celebrates complication and disturbance.

Bouche Premiere's sound design thrives on ambiguity and non-linearity. Liquid debris, skittering chunks of blown-out machine drums, disembodied whispers, the pulse of blood and language of skin. Forgoing traditional track structures, sounds reduce themselves and lurch forward without warning. Only the bass reminds us we are in a moving body: dance as involuntary spasm, a joyful, deconstructed and fearless forward motion.
